Okay, well maybe that’s a bit of an overstatement, but there is one blogger who likes our little blog enough to pass along a fun award to us, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. Alyssa at Mookology, a blog that compares and contrasts books and the movies that are based off of them, has given us the Kreativ Blogger Award. This award is passed along from one blog to another and is a great way to recognize your fellow bloggers. As part of the award, you are asked to list 10 facts about yourself that your readers may not know, then pass the award along to 10 other blogs which you enjoy yourself.
Since there are 3 Crusaders, our 10 facts will encompass all of us:
1.) You may or may not know this, but Jenn and I (Stacy) are twin sisters. If you’ve seen the photo in the “Meet the Crusaders” section, you may have been wondering, so for those of you who were curious, your question has been answered.
2.) Elisa may not be our twin, but she has a twin brother of her own. I think it’s how she handles some of the “twin things” so well. (“Twin things” include, but are not limited to, bickering and listening to the same story twice. I don’t know how she puts up with us sometimes…)
3.) The three of us met in college (over 10 years ago) while studying to become future graphic designers. At first I thought Elisa was a teacher’s pet (it’s okay, she already knows this), but we quickly became close friends and I realized that she is just really that nice to everyone. It didn’t seem natural to me at the time, now it’s totally normal.
4.) Jenn has a 9 month old daughter who has her exact personality. It’s easy to make both smile and laugh, but they each have a feisty side. It’s going to be VERY interesting when her baby becomes a teenager…
5.) Jenn and I worked together for 5 years before she had her little girl (now she is a stay at home mom). Even though we are twins and often get into minor arguments, we actually managed to be an amazing team. It’s not often that you get to work with someone who totally and completely gets you.
6.) Elisa runs. Like seriously runs and actually enjoys it. I think she’s nuts but she is dedicated and completed her first half marathon last fall. This spring she will be competing in another half marathon and hopes to finish her first full marathon later this year.
7.) Before getting married, Elisa and I Iived together for about 3 years, but we spend more time together now than we did then. We were constantly passing each other in the hallway but never made plans for dinner, drinks, or just hanging out. After I moved out, we made it a point to make plans at least once a week.
8.) Elisa introduced me to my husband. I owe her a lot for bringing such a wonderful person into my life (other than herself).
9.) Other than cupcakes, Elisa, Jenn, and I each have a love for dogs. Jenn has a 70lb Husky mix named Maya, Elisa has a 55lbΒ German Shorthaired Pointer named Delilah, and I have a 40-45lb 11 month old Malinois Shepherd mix named Lana. Each of our “puppies” were rescued from different shelters. Rescuing dogs is something we all feel strongly about.
10.) People often ask how we stay in shape while eating so many cupcakes and my response always is: Elisa is a runner, Jenn chases a 9 month old around, and I eat salads almost everyday for lunch. I think everyone thinks I’m kidding, but it’s actually true. We also are big sharers. We try to get a variety of flavors we all like and then we’ll split the cupcakes up. So even if we try 3 different flavors, usually we’ve really only eaten 1 cupcake total per person. It’s only on a rare (and special) occasion that I ever get a full cupcake to myself anymore.
Now that you know a little more about us, here are some blogs that we think deserve some acknowledgement: La Casa de Sweets, Angry Asian Creations, The Sweet Life, The Nervous Cook, Eat. Swim. Shop., Miss.Zoe, Mia in Style, Fizzy Party, Once Upon A Loaf, and Kupcake Kraze. Each of these blogs has something different and wonderful to offer. Whether they’ve been around for a while or are totally new to the blogging world, we think they are great and deserve to be recognized.Β π
Thanks again to Alyssa at Mookology for thinking of us! We will continue to read and enjoy your blog as well!

Thank you for the shout out! I loved reading the facts, and I love that your blog is based around trying so.many.cupcakes…basically the driving force behind my life. If you ever come to Boston we could do a SERIOUS cupcake tour π
Definitely! I haven’t been to Boston since I was a kid and really want to back. A cupcake tour would need to happen. π
Oh my goodness thank you SO much. I too am sick like Elisa, I like to run π No half marathon yet but lots and lots of 5ks and some 10k’s oops! I should save that for one of my 10 facts. Shh, you didn’t read that info π I’m with The Sweet Life, if you’re ever in Oregon, I’ll be sure to take you on a cupcake tour of our city.
Haha! Can’t wait to read all your 10 facts! And yes, if we are ever in Oregon (Crusader Elisa LOVES Portland, and I’ve been dying to visit) we will definitely let you know! Thanks!
Seeing as I have been such a bad friend with keeping on on the blog I am browsing past posts that I missed in the midst of finishing my last semester of college. Although I knew most of these facts they were fun to read and I did NOT know that Elisa was a twin! That’s awesome. π Congrats on the award!
